Legalization of Degree & Apostille
Greetings to all readers,
We went to check out about legalization and stamping of our degree(10th June 2008). At last, we managed to find all the necessary information for us, the students of Malaysia. These informations are provided by the officers from the Government of Russia.
following are the things you should do after getting your degree (note that i arranged them in order of priority):
1. Get a notarized copy of your degree – can be translated into any languages ( м. Тульская)
2. Консульская легализация – Ministry of Justice (м. Цветной бульвар)
This stamp must be placed on the notarized copy of degree. (NOT ON THE DEGREE!) It takes about 2-3 days and its free of charge
3. МИД stamp – Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Consular Department) (м.Парк Культуры)
4. Stamp of Embassy
5. Apostille (not necessary for Malaysian, but if you have decided to pursue your career in one of the countries that participated in the Hague’s Convention, you’ll be needing this. For the list of countries, see below)
http://www.apostille.com.ru/
Apostille stamp can be placed on the degree, but the officer in the Ministry of Justice advised us to do it on the notarized copy of degree as it takes lesser time period
Duration and payment for the apostille and МИД stamp (through government) is yet to be confirmed. Will update soon.
Apart from this we also found a law firm (РОИД pvt ltd) that has agreed to do all the stamping (except embassy’s) for 4350rub(if we managed to collect about 40 degrees), maximum duration of stamping is 9 days, but all the stamps will be placed on the notarized copies. For this purpose, 2 notarized copies of degree will
be prepared:
(a) 1st copy -Stamp of Консульская легализация, МИД (2950rub + 50rub)
(b) 2nd copy – Apostille (1300 rub + 50rub)
* 50RUB EACH IS FOR PREPARING THE NOTARIZED COPIES
If the МИД stamp should be done on the degree it will cost 6500rub
Our next move is to go to the ministry of Foreign Affairs again on the 23/06/08 to verify the validity of МИД stamp on the notarized copy.(rumor says that we have to get it done on the degree) We are going to checkout if there are chances of getting the stamping done faster(with a little payment, of course)
